Action Hardware Reaches Out To Consumers Proactively During Coronavirus

June 10, 2020 Max Moon

Although frontline workers are busy saving lives during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, most people are at home with a lot of time on their hands. While self-isolating, many bored Americans are using the opportunity to tackle home improvement projects. Hardware stores are allowed to stay open while many other retail stores are closed, because they provide essential services to local communities in times of crisis. However, plenty of consumers are also hitting up hardware and home improvement stores to get through their honey-do lists, and DoitBest is safely making that possible with curb side pick-up options and by protecting their customers, employees and supplier partners.

“Here is what we are doing to flatten the curve:

  • Masks/face coverings must be worn to enter our store.
  • We are open to the public but we are also offering CURBSIDE PICKUP and invite customers to call ahead for orders.
  • We’ve temporary limited our hours, Monday- Saturday 8:00am-5:30pm and Sunday 10:00am-4:00pm”

DoitBest Takes Their Work Force Seriously With Recognition of Exemplary Employees

Great sales reps can be hard to find and we know why. They have been snatched up by DoitBest Locations such as Action Hardware. “I like my job, I get to talk to people all day and really get to know them” said Bob during our conversation about Hawk Tools Sani-Balm. “I don’t want to work anywhere else.” Bob knows that his customers take priority and DoitBest know that stand out employees are the corner stones of the DoitBest empire and they are often recognized through DoitBest’s social media outreach.

DoitBest Leverages Community Involvement To Offer Support To Customers

Action Hardware InteriorDoitBest, an American hardware wholesaler with more than 3,800 independent hardware retail stores around the world, relies on its community-focused stores to spread the brand’s message of local support, giving communities hope and volunteers for non profits providing both social support and items that may be most needed during coronavirus.

“Do it Best has been involved for many years with Big Brothers Big Sisters, particularly in the Lunch Buddy program. Do it Best president emeritus Don Wolf was a co-founder of the Northeast Indiana chapter of BBBS. Both Don Wolf and Do it Best president emeritus Mike McClelland have served on BBBS’s national board of directors, as has Bob Taylor, our former president and CEO.

DoitBest is using Facebook and Youtube on social media to promote their stores’ “commitment to their community” during the pandemic. Many DoitBest locations like Hardware Plus II in Wayne, PA are clarifying the guidelines for shopping on site and, some stores even offering home delivery although delivery times may be impacted by increased demand,.  #DoitBest member-owned Wasko Hardware, Inc. in Keosauqua, Iowa made a big change to keep their community safe. When one of their beloved customers contracted COVID-19, they quickly adjusted to serve their community the safest way possible. They set up tables outside their store and devised a system to run a touchless sale. Read the full story in this article from Hardware Retailing: https://bit.ly/2zPx1un
